Pickstown Museum

History Happens Fast

The Pickstown Museum recounts the life and times before and after the construction of the Fort Randall Dam between 1946-1953. This unassuming museum in quiet Pickstown will surprise you with its exhibits and artifacts, giving you a comprehensive view into another time when a lively town sprung almost literally out of the ground. Remarkable events, individuals, and drama have been recorded and preserved by the town's people, housed and presented in this gem of a museum.

The Pickstown Museum is located in the Rainbow Room Complex in Pickstown, the last three original town buildings.

To see the museum, please CALL AHEAD at (605) 487-7299.
