There is no shortage of magnificent resorts on the Missouri River in South Dakota. Bob’s Resort in Gettysburg offers cabins, motel rooms and RV sites for any type of vacationer. Try a steak at Bob’s Steakhouse or stop by the Bait Shop & C-Store to pick up everything you need for a day on the water. Lewis and Clark Resort in Yankton, South Dakota is located in the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area. The Resort has new renovated cottages, hotel rooms, and camping available, all with lakeside views of the Missouri. In addition, the lodge can also accommodate large groups for weddings, family reunions, and corporate retreats.

There really is no better way to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Missouri River region than by camping along the banks of the Missouri River. Thankfully, there is no shortage of campgrounds and state parks offering campsites with views of the river. These campgrounds are perfect for watching the sunrise over the Missouri and sitting around the campfire watching the stars each night.
