The 18-hole facility in Pierre, South Dakota features a driving range, two practice putting greens, a short game chipping green, and 6,735 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72.The clubhouse view overlooks the hills of the Missouri River where the course gets its name. The course layout wanders on a tract of land adjacent to the river. The large challenging greens and unpredictable South Dakota winds make Hillsview a unique venue. There's a blend of broad fairways on the front nine holes with scattered trees at the borders with many water hazards to navigate.
The back nine holes offer a challenge of tree-lined fairways that require precision tee shots to thread the needle to the open fairways. Overall there's a generous amount of sand bunkers along the fairways and guarding the greens in addition to natural areas as hazards.
Hillsview has four sets of tees: Black (Championship), Gold(back), Silver(middle), and white(forward), the gold tees are 6,251 yards, 69.8/118, course/slope ratings.
For your enjoyment, the following tee suggestions are based on your USGA handicap: Black tee (0-7 handicap), Gold tee (8-15 handicap), Silver tee, and White tee (16 & up handicap). A Kid's course is marked out in the fairway with yellow disks for the enjoyment of helping kids learn the game.
